Penn Yan Elementary School students got the opportunity to do their own holiday shopping thanks to the support of our Parent Teacher Group.
A tradition that has spanned more than two decades, the Penn Yan PTG worked along with staff to collect donations for students to shop from to give as gifts to their adult loved ones. From jewelry, crafts and kitchen gadgets and more, each child was invited to select two gifts—one for each parent or guardian—and choose a free ornament from the Christmas tree to take home as a special keepsake.
The shopping experience was transformed into a festive winter wonderland. Classes visited the bazaar while volunteers helped students select and wrap their gifts.
The Penn Yan Parent Teacher Group is supported through the Tops in Education program where a portion of the sales of certain products goes towards supporting the PTG’s programs. To register, click here.
