Principal's Message

Dear Students, Families and Community Members:

Welcome to Penn Yan Elementary, where we are proud to partner with families to help every student grow, learn, and thrive from Pre-K through 5th grade!

 

At PYE, we strive to ensure every student is Respectful, Responsible, and Safe - Every Day in Every Way! These core values guide the way we learn, work, and build relationships throughout our school and our community. Through our PBIS framework, we intentionally teach and reinforce these expectations while helping students develop confidence, leadership skills, and a strong sense of belonging.

 

We believe in meeting the needs of the whole child. Our students experience meaningful, engaging instruction in English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, while also having opportunities to explore their interests and talents through physical education and wellness, art, music, STEM, and library. Our music program offers students opportunities to participate in band, orchestra, and chorus, with students able to begin strings as early as 2nd grade and chorus in 3rd grade.

 

At the heart of PYE is a team of dedicated and caring professionals who are committed to knowing our students and supporting their individual needs. Our teachers work alongside school psychologists, a social worker, school counselor, youth counselor, behavior specialist, and academic interventionists in literacy and mathematics to provide students with the individualized academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support they need to be successful.

 

Most importantly, we want every student who walks through our doors to know that they are known, valued, supported, and capable of great things. We are proud of the strong relationships we build with our students, families, and community, and we look forward to partnering with you throughout your child's elementary journey.
