Principal's Message

 

At Penn Yan Elementary, we strive to ensure that all students pre K through 5th grade are: "Respectful, Responsible, and Safe - Every Day in Every Way!"  We are committed to supporting student success through meaningful and engaging curriculum, building positive relationships with all stakeholders, and fostering a collaborative school environment. 

Our elementary program is designed to meet the needs of the whole child and foster leadership characteristics following our PBIS system. We teach students to act in a Respectful, Responsible, and Safe way whether in our school or our community!

 

Students at PYE are engaged in a strong foundation in english language arts, mathematics, science and social studies instruction. All Penn Yan Elementary students receive instruction in physical education and wellness, art, music, STEM, and library. Our extended music offerings in band, orchestra and chorus have a large population of students enrolled. Students can begin taking choir in 3rd grade and strings as young as 2nd grade!

These programs are supported by dedicated, compassionate, and highly skilled teachers, school psychologists, a social worker, a school counselor, youth counselor, behavior specialist and academic interventionists in literacy and mathematics to support academic achievement and socialization.
